After a nation-wide casting call led by Fox Searchlight Pictures, R&B singer Sean Kingston has landed the lead role to play Notorious B.I.G. in an upcoming biopic supposedly entitled NOTORIOUS.

The film will be produced by Voletta Wallace (B.I.G.’s mother), Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts (B.I.G.’s former music managers), Bob Teitel and executive produced by Sean Diddy Combs based on a screenplay by Cheo Hodari Coker and Reggie Rock Bythewood.

The singer responsible for the summer hit Beautiful Girls says : "When I first heard about that movie, it was through management. My management told me about it and you know I had auditioned for it and I met with the director and I nailed it and he gave me a shot now at being in the movie."

Notorious B.I.G.’s mother Voletta Wallace, and his two former managers, Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts, played a key role in casting and were keen to sign-up an unknown star for the coveted role.

Director Tillman says, "Being a huge fan of Notorious B.I.G. as an artist, I’m excited to direct the bio-pic of Christopher Wallace. It’s a truly epic tale. There’s so much to the story that has yet to be told and I am humbled by the journey he took to become a man before his untimely death. This is an amazing opportunity to make an iconic film."

Rookie R&B singer, Sean Kingston, will not be playing the role of Biggie Smalls.

According to reports, the “Beautiful Girl” hit maker announced he will be playing The Notorious in the upcoming biopic titled “Notorious” during Nickolodeon’s Kids Choice Awards.

“My management had told me about it. And then you know, I auditioned for it. And then I met with the director, the big director, and I nailed it. So he’s giving me a shot now, in being in the movie.” Said Kingston.

However, according to Wayne Barrow—Biggie’s long time friend and the films Executive Producer, the role is still up for grabs.

“Sean Kingston nor ANY other individual has been cast for the role of Christoper “Notorious B.I.G” Wallace or any other characters which will be portrayed in the biopic of B.I.G.

We will continue to search for the individual to fill the shoes of B.I.G in this film.” said Barrow.

Hopefuls still have a chance to get cased by uploading their videos at BiggieCasting.com for a chance to play the rap legend.

The winner will be chosen by producers Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts (Wallace’s former managers) and his mother, Voletta Wallace.
